Robert "Bob" Matthew Hedrich,

Of Oakley

Passed away Sunday morning January 10, 2016, at his home after a long illness.  Age 74. His Funeral Mass was held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Oakley.  Fr. Joe Miller officiated.  Burial followed at the church cemetery.  Friends visited at The Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning on Tuesday January 12, 2016, from 1:00-8:00 pm and then at the church on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from 10:00 am until time of the Mass.

He was born April 4, 1941, in Chesaning.  His parents were Matthew and Bernadette (Turnwald) Hedrich.  Bob married his high school sweetheart, Marlene Farley and they were together for 55 years.  Those left to mourn him include his wife, Marlene (Farley) Hedrich; his children, Douglas (Kathy) Hedrich of Prudenville, Debra (Randy) Taylor of New Lothrop, David (Kristi) Hedrich of Oxford, Wisconsin, Danette Hedrich of Breckenridge; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Betty (Terry) Gross, Ronald (Helen) Hedrich, Mike (Linda) Giesken, Tom (Cindy) Hedrich, Kris (John) Pardell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob graduated from Chesaning High School, class of 1959.  He retired from G.M. and was a member of U.A.W. Local 599.  He had been very involved at St. Michael Catholic Church, Oakley, his entire life, which one Father’s Day, earned him the Father of the Year Award.

Most people knew Bob as a person who could fix anything.  He used to say, “I’m a jack of all trades, master of none”.  He was a humble man, always there to help friends, family, or anyone who was in need, giving freely without expecting anything in return.

Bob had many God-given talents, helping him to live a very busy and fulfilling life.  Bob’s talents included sheet metal working, car and body repair, snowmobile and motorcycle fun and fixes, lots of woodworking and building things.  His homemade wine was second to none.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting and making people laugh.  Most of all, Bob loved playing his music, which has touched the hearts of many.  His musical friends were his second family. He will be greatly missed by many, including his little buddy Rylee, who he would not have traded for all the money in the world.
