Mike was a real attractive guy, gracious to all in high school. As Felix said, he had that smoothness and grace of an athlete. Too many young people from Chesaning falling down. Thinking of you Steve and Patty.

I am very saddened with Mike's passing. My brother Ronnie and I will miss him dearly.  Our childhood memories are many, and all good, we couldn't have been any closer to someone than we were with Mike.  We will always have our great times playing baseball for Chesaning High, and later softball.......never saw a better softball player by the way.  Prayers and well wishes to all of the family and the friends that loved Mike. I will always feel like a better person for having known Mike.....Thank-you and God Bless.

It was a Saturday in June many years ago. My friend Karl and I stood and watched a giant man hitting softballs on a football field. He was standing under one goal post swatting balls through the opposite one. Mike DeVota, I later learned. He was dressed in a white cut up T shirt and cutoff jean shorts. Not the appearance you would expect from a ball player. As it turned out. He was way more than a ball player. Mike had it all. Personality, good looks, mad athletic skills, strength, and the most phenomenal wife. As it's been many years, it seems as it was just yesterday. May god bless one of my best teammates and all of his loved ones. See you on the big field Devo!
Love ya Mo.

I worked with Mike at Spartan and golfed with him on our golf league.  He was a pleasure to work with, always helpful and hard-working.  He was a fun guy to be around, especially when we golfed with him.  Mike was always a very generous person and I experienced this first-hand.  He was remodeling the deck on their house and told me to go ahead and stop by and pick up all the old lumber from the remodel if I wanted it.  We had just bought our first house and the garage was rotted and needed to be demolished.  I used the lumber he gave me to build a really nice 12X12 shed in our backyard.  This was also the last project I worked on with my dad before he passed away in 2009.  That shed has a very special place in my heart, and I will not forget his generosity.  I will try to post a picture of it.  I extend my deepest condolences and sympathy to his family and friends.  We will all miss Big Mike.

Here on earth Mike made a difference.  Always made you feel special when you would see him.  Our family spent much time together growing up.  Our annual Bow shots and times playing tag.  Mike always was kind and I will never forget that smile/laugh.

We are sadden for the loss of him but blessed to have known him.  We rejoice knowing that he is with his maker.

We are praying with many others for the family that is left here for now.  I look forward to see you again at  the never ending softball game in heaven.

Mike and I shared many stories about coaching our children in youth sports. I never met anyone that was as dedicated and excited to coach and support his kids as Big Mike. He was extremely proud of his kids and it was always a pleasure to hear him tell stories about how his kids and the team were doing. Mike will be greatly missed but always remembered. My deepest heat felt sympathies to his family.

Mike was a valued associate to me and many of the associates at Spartan Motors. No matter the circumstance, he was always willing to take time to talk and help those around him. Mike was always an encourager and a gentleman to all of us who had the good fortune to work with him. His passing brings heavy hearts here, but his faith in Christ has brought him to his eternal heavenly home.
May God bring joyful memories to offset the tears of grief as time passes.
