William H. Reetz

REETZ, William H. – of Chesaning, died Friday, February 17, 2023, at his residence. He was 90 years of age.

Bill was born June 14, 1932, in Saginaw to the late Roland and Madeline (Thomas) Reetz. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1954. Bill was a resident of Chesaning the past 25 years. He retired from Hayes Specialties in Saginaw in 2005 with 22 years seniority. Mr. Reetz was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2426 in Birch Run and #82 in Saginaw, the Pulaski Club in Saginaw, and was an active participant in many local senior centers. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, periodic casino runs, tinkering around the house, was a man in motion, had a passion for playing cards, watching hockey and football, but especially being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are: companion, Lorraine Morrish of Clio; 2 sons, William H. (Connie) Reetz, Jr. of Albee Twp. and Brian (Amy) Reetz of Saginaw Twp.; son-in-law, Michael Rose of Albee Twp.; grandchildren: Stacey (Nick) McNaughton of Chesaning, Samantha Reetz of Albee Twp., Erin (Steve) Willsmore of Howell, and Emily Reetz (Fiance Peter Decker) of Rochester; great grandchildren: Jackson Willsmore, Weston McNaughton and Charlie McNaughton; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: his wife, Sally Jo Reetz on January 25, 2016, and his daughter, Cathy Rose on April 26, 2005.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Chesaning. Pastor Paul Tessmer officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Inurnment of Bill and Sally will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. Contributions in his memory may be made to Covenant Hospice.
