Wendy Marie Thiel

 

THIEL, Wendy Marie – of Owosso passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Memorial Healthcare Center of Owosso surrounded by her family. She was 60 years of age.

 

Wendy was born in Owosso on May 7, 1966, a daughter of Gerald L. and Norma Jean (Sims) Thiel. Wendy has lived in Owosso the past 20 years, coming from Chesaning. She had worked for Thompson Boats before becoming a home health caregiver.  She retired from home health care in 2018.

 

Wendy enjoyed knitting, playing card games, sewing, fishing, and participating at the various activities at her apartment complex.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

 

She is survived by her children, Jonathon Herbers of Brant, Donald (Chelsea) Herbers of Midland, Sasha (Christopher) Cole of Otisville, and Matthew Thiel of Owosso; eight grandchildren, Austin Cole (Chelsea), Michael Verrier, Aubrey Cole, John Aldridge, Gage Brodsky, Quinn Brodsky, Caroline Herbers, and Kolsen Brodsky; a great-grandson, Casen Cole, on the way; sister, Susan VanBuren of Owosso; brother, Timothy Thiel of Owosso; sister-in-law, Karla Thiel; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jerry Thiel, Harry Thiel, Eldon Thiel, Paul Thiel, Rosemary Bemiss; a great-niece, Brooklyn VanBuren; and a great-nephew, Justin Allen.
