Wayne J. Suppes

SUPPES, Wayne J. – of Chesaning, passed away peacefully Friday, March 27, 2026. He was 77 years of age.

Wayne was born January 10, 1949, in Saginaw to the late William and Betty (Marshall) Suppes, Jr. He spent his early years in Oakley then moved to Chesaning. He was united in marriage to Helen “Kay” Jurecka on July 27, 1968. Mr. Suppes was employed as a salesman for several trucking companies, retiring from Alvan Motor Freight in 2008. He then became a school bus driver for Chesaning Union Schools and enjoyed driving the sports teams to their games. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, was the school board president of Chesaning Union Schools for many years, served on the showboat committee and was an endman of the show. He enjoyed watching sports, especially Chesaning teams and being on the water with his boat in the Les Cheneaux Islands.

Surviving are: wife, Kay; son, Jeff (Patty) Suppes of Mays Landing, NJ; daughter, Stephanie (Brian) Gross of Oakley; grandchildren: Sebastian Suppes of NJ, Adrian Suppes (fiancé Caitlyn) of PA, Taylor Gross (companion Travis) of Gaylord, Ty Gross of Oakley; sister, Pat (Ron) Turner of Central Lake; “brother/uncle” Darrell (Linda) Marshall of Chapin; several other relatives and many dear friends. He was also preceded in death by a son, Justin in 1995.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Chesaning. Pastor Janine Plum officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00pm to 7:00pm at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning, and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00am until time of services at 11:00am.
