RAMSDILL, Virginia K. (Judd) – of Saginaw, formerly Chesaning, passed away Thursday morning, June 2, 2022, at her residence. She was 100 years of age.
Virginia was born in Chesaning on March 19, 1922, the daughter of Ganson and Grace (Smitzer) Judd. Virginia graduated from Chesaning Union High School in the Class of 1940. She was united in marriage to Arthur G. Ramsdill in Chesaning on December 25, 1940. They were married for over 52 years and raised two children before he preceded her in death on October 16, 1993.
Virginia was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saginaw. She began her career by working in her grandfather’s hotel in downtown Chesaning. She enjoyed working in the family’s business and completing her daily tasks. She was also a talented seamstress and known for the beautiful clothing she created. In later years, before she retired, Mrs. Ramsdill had worked at Hehr Glass for fifteen years and Roycraft Coach Company for five years. Both companies were located in Chesaning. She was a member of the Showboat Decorating Committee for several years. Virginia and her husband, Arthur, were founding members of the Twin Brooks Golf Course in Chesaning. She enjoyed her winters in Florida, sewing, knitting, dog races, slot machines, shopping, desserts, and gathering with family and friends, but most of all, she loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Ramsdill is survived by her grandchildren, Brad (Michelle) Ramsdill of Owosso, Michael Ramsdill (Mark Posade) of Auburn, and Ingra Miles of St. Johns; son-in-law, Wally Bailey of DeWitt; great-grandchildren, Kristal, Jessica, Brandee, Grace, Haley, Josh, Ginnie, and Jada; great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Sam, Dean Spencer, and one more, Sutton Rose, who is expected on June 7, 2022; three half siblings; nieces, Pat Hemker and Susan Shulte; nephew, Rick Righi; special friends, Mary Hickmott and Marla Judd; and other loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents; five half siblings; her husband, Arthur; son, Michael Arthur Ramsdill; daughter, Rebecca Jo Bailey; and just recently, a granddaughter, Sherri Stahl, on May 17, 2022.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning. Inurnment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Chesaning. Visitation for Mrs. Ramsdill will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until till of the time memorial service.
