Thomas John Gasser

GASSER, Thomas John – of Albee Township, died Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. He was 73 years of age.

Thomas was born April 24, 1948 in Saginaw to the late Wilfred and Betty (Andres) Gasser. He was raised in Maple Grove Township moving to Albee Township after marriage. He was united in marriage to Nancy Kulhanek on October 26, 1968. Tom was a member of Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Charles. Mr. Gasser retired from Buick with over 40 years as a millwright and a member of the UAW Local #599. He served as Albee Township Clerk for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, Tiger baseball, Notre Dame football and vacationing in Florida.

Surviving are: wife, Nancy; children: Tom (Sherry) Gasser of Freeport, Steve (Kari) Gasser of Spaulding, Tina Sayan of Burt; grandchildren: Samantha Sayan of Burt, Luke Sayan of Burt, Kelly Gasser of Freeport, Amelia Gasser of Swartz Creek and Madison Gasser of Spaulding; siblings: Carol (George) Doyle of Grand Rapids, Mike (Chris) Gasser of Montrose, Sharon (Bill) Reinhart of Grand Blanc, Dennis (Margo) Gasser of Onaway, Deb (Greg) Pincumbe of Holt, Theresa (Darren) Park of Corunna; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Anna, Beth and Johnathan.

Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albee Twp. Fr. John Cotter officiating. Burial to follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Wednesday from 2-7 p.m. where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of mass at 11 a.m. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
