Steven Charles Manial of Chesaning died early Wednesday morning, August 11, 2021, at his home with his children by his bedside. He was 70 years of age.
Steven was born in Saginaw on August 29, 1950, a son of Charles and Rosemarie (Krawczak) Manial. Steve grew up in Saginaw and graduated from Laker High in the Class of 1968. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Szymanski on September 6, 1969, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Saginaw. They became long-time residents of Chesaning. Steve and Evelyn were very family oriented. They attended every sport event their grandsons played in and spent every moment they could with their family.
Steve retired from GM as a Skilled Trades worker. He loved sports and he was a former Coach for the Men’s Softball League in Chesaning. He was a big Michigan fan. Steve also loved reading.
He is survived by his children, Shane Manial of Owosso and Stephanie Harrod of Chesaning; grandsons, Andrew Manial of Owosso, Brendan Harrod of Ovid, Bryce Harrod of Corunna, and Levi Manial of Owosso; his siblings, Vickie (Dan) Thompson of Essexville, Andy (Ann) Manial of Bay Port, and Mark (Wave) Manial of Sebewaing; brother-in-law, Alex Mcleod of Kinde; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sharon Mcleod; and recently his beloved wife of 51 years, Evelyn, on February 25, 2021.
Visitation will be at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, from 1-4 p.m. with a funeral service at 4 p.m. Rev. Fred Smith will officiate. Cremation to follow. Contributions in his memory may be made to the family.
