DOCKEN, Scott A. – of Chesaning passed peacefully with his family and friends at his side on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Henry Ford Health Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc. He was 63 years of age.
Scott was born in Flint on November 14, 1962, a son of Arthur A. and Gloria J. (Hemstreet) Docken. Scott had lived in Flushing before moving with his family to Chesaning in 1971. He attended school in Chesaning and graduated from Chesaning Union High School in 1982. He worked as a union laborer and was a proud member of LIUNA Local 1075. He was known as a “Jack of all Trades” amongst his fellow workers. He had worked for Barton Malow Construction for over 20 years before his auto accident in 2004.
Scott collected and traded coins. He was so good at it that he was given the alias, “Quad Stacker”. When he could, Scott enjoyed attending rock and roll concerts. He had his favorites, but he loved and seen them all.
Scott is survived by his sons, Justin (Stephanie) Docken of Burt and Jake Docken of Chesaning; six grandchildren, Johnny, Xander, Jake Jr., Ava, Trenton, and Bailey; his parents, Arthur and Gloria Docken; brothers, Gregory (Debra) Docken of Maple Grove and Todd (Kris) Docken of St. Charles; several nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Kevin Eller of Las Vegas; special friend, Rhonda Edmunds of Flint; and other loving family and many friends. He was preceded in death by special friends, Eric and Mary.
Funeral services for Scott will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Misiuk Funeral Home, 202 South Front Street, Chesaning. Rev. John James will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until time of the service at 7 p.m.
