Scott Gerald Richmond

RICHMOND, Scott Gerald – of Chesaning, died Saturday, August 22, 2026, at My Michigan Medical Center in Saginaw with his family by his side. He was 64 years of age. 

Scott was born February 26, 1962, in Saginaw to the late Gerald and Grace (Bessinger) Richmond and was a lifelong resident of Chesaning. He was a 1980 graduate of Chesaning Union High School having been on the Wrestling team and won many awards and trophies. Mr. Richmond retired in 2019 from Champagne and Marx Excavating with 36 years behind the wheel of a gravel train. Scott never failed to remind you that he had more miles backing up than you had going forward. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Blueberry Aerie #4090 in Montrose, life member of Mid-Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association, and the Teamsters Local #406. He loved to collect and restore old tractors, especially IH. Scott loved his farm and enjoyed driving his grandchildren around the farm to admire it. 

Surviving are: his children: Trisha (Aaron) Wesener of Birch Run, Chip (Krystal) Richmond of Chesaning; “like a son” Kris (fiancé Marie) Amman of Shields, and Lucas (Amy) Wolfe of WI; grandchildren: Ella Richmond, Scott Gerald Richmond III, Amelia Wesener, Nate Richmond, Julia Richmond, Hadley Smeltzer, Wyatt Wesener, Madeline Smeltzer and Michael Wolfe; sisters: Bobbi Jo (Jay) Larrabee, Terri Lummie and Wendy Sokhanvari; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jessie Richmond; brother, Todd Richmond; and a niece, Emma Sokhanvari. 

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 1-6 pm at his residence, 8300 W. Gary Road, Chesaning, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
