RYDER, Sandra J. “Sandie” - of Chesaning, died Monday, June 15, 2026, at Medilodge of Montrose. She was 87 years of age.
Sandie was born October 5, 1938, in Flint a daughter of William and Dorothy (Cloutier) Slusser. Sandie was a bit of a nomad throughout her life but always considered Chesaning, MI her home. Her professional career was spent as a nurse with a heart for geriatric patients. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, worshiping at both St. Charles and Mt. Pleasant SDA Churches. She loved gardening, canning, cooking and crocheting. Sandie loved to gift others with her crocheted hats and scarves. She was known as an excellent cook. One of her greatest joys was preparing a meal for family and friends.
Surviving are: children: Charles (Judith) White of Durand, Richard (Deborah) White of Laingsburg, Donna Chapman of Durand, and Ann Chapman of Chesaning; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; very special friends: Sandy Brantley of Riverdale and Linda Holmes of Vestaburg. She was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Dorothy Slusser; sisters, Joyce Ostrander, Beverly Bechtel; and a son Brian Edward Chapman.
