Obituary

SHOENS, Roger O. – of Clio, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022, at Maple Wood Manor of Clio.  He was 72 years of age.
 
Roger was born in Saginaw on February 11, 1950, a son of the late Harrison S. and Erma (Baldwin) Shoens.  Roger had resided in Millington the first fifty years of his life before touring the US.  He graduated from Millington High School in the Class of 1968.  He was an US Army Veteran and had served overseas .  He was Honorably Discharged on May 6, 1971.  He was united in marriage with Dorothy Jean Foster in Mt. Morris on May 5, 1978.
 
Mr. Shoens was a retired GM production worker.  He had worked from September of 1968 to July of 1998.  He also had worked at amusement parks concession stands and drove cars for dealerships.  He was a member of the Clio Eagles Club. 
 
Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Jean; their children, Kelly (Kristy) Shoens of Millington, Becky (Marv) Plementosh of Owosso, Tammy Sharpardon of Davison, and Les “Pete” (Mary) Talcott of Roscommon; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sisters, Chris (Jim) Hawkins of Millington and Judy (Dave) Schoechert of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.
 
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, 650 W. South Street, Owosso.  Pastor Don Fields will be officiating.  Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service.
