Roger Kulhanek Obituary
KULHANEK, Roger F. – of Oakley, died Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his residence. He was 81 years of age.
Roger was born September 1, 1939 in Saginaw County to the late Frank and Kate (Heine) Kulhanek. He was a resident of Saginaw County his entire life. He was united in marriage to Janice Moore on August 1, 1959. She preceded him in death on May 17, 2019. Mr. Kulhanek was a farmer until he was 48 years old then began working for Penske until retirement August of 2009. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albee and Knights of Columbus St. Christopher Council #2943. He enjoyed taking pictures of wildlife, farming and being with family and friends.
Surviving are: children, Jeffrey (Kim) Kulhanek of Chesaning, Russell Kulhanek of Fredric, Kristine (Dave) Hart of Elsie, and Matthew Kulhanek of Davison; eight grandchildren, Lindsey, Chelsea, Cody, Tracy, Britany, Denver, Ethan, and Issac; five great-grandchildren; siblings: Richard (Linda) Kulhanek of Albee, Nancy (Tom) Gasser of Albee, Marie Smeaton of Albee, Frankie Kulhanek of St. Joseph, Cathy Kulhanek of CO, Debbie (Lyle) Mikolanz of Chesaning; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelsie.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albee celebrated by Fr. John Cotter. Burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by the Knights of Columbus. Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Following Covid-19 guidelines, masks must be worn, and social distancing practiced at the funeral home and at the church. Currently funeral homes are limited to 25 people. Please keep your visit brief to allow everyone a chance to see the family. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
