Rodney W. Sipes

SIPES, Rodney W. – of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, January 20, 2024, at his residence. He was 76 years of age.

Rodney was born April 24, 1947, in Flint and was raised by the late Wes and Mary (McFall) Gingery. He was a resident of Swartz Creek and had previously lived in Las Vegas and Davison. He was united in marriage to Jeanne M. Bahl on June 18, 1966 in CA. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2009. Mr. Sipes served in the US Navy from August 11, 1965, to May 26, 1968. He managed storage facilities for different companies. Rodney enjoyed golfing in his younger years, watching baseball, especially the Tigers, and Red Wings hockey.

Surviving are: children: Brian (Debbie) Sipes of Swartz Creek, Kristina Nicholson (Blake Rosser) of Las Vegas, Jason Sipes of Swartz Creek; grandchildren: Chelsea Sipes, Morgan (Josh) Farley, Devin (fiancé Alex) Sipes, Raquel (Leo) Nicholson, Savannah Sipes, and Tyler Sipes; great grandchildren: Maddie, Calvin, Mason, Olivia, Mila, Calliope and Louie on the way; brother, LeRoy (Estelle) Gordon; and sister-in-law, Sharon Sipes. He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Sipes.

A committal service with US Navy funeral honors will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at Great Lakes National Cemetery.  You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
