Robert G. Korf Obituary
Robert G. Korf, age 90, of Chesaning Twp. passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, at The Lodge of Durand after a short illness.
Robert was born in Owosso on May 5, 1934, a son to Elmer and Nina (Haughton) Korf. Bob was a lifelong farmer, he started driving a tractor at age 8 years old. In his later years, he planted many gardens and was especially proud of his peach trees and huge pumpkins which he shared with family and friends. He loved U. of M. sports and attended many football, basketball, and hockey games. He liked his trips to the U.P. and going to the casinos.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doreen (Schmidt) Korf; his daughters, Dawn (Todd) Barthel and Jill (James) Quarles; two very special grandsons, Benjamin Barthel and Tanner Quarles; his sister, Jacqueline (Robert) Kreinbrick; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phylllis and Jerry Little and Charles and Gail Schmidt; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Nina Korf; and his parents-in-law, Alfred and Irene Schmidt.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning with Pastor Brad Speirs officiating. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service. Burial of his cremated remains will be later at Easton Cemetery.
