SIMECKI, PETER JAMES – 88 of Chapin Township, left this world on June 9, 2022, to be with his heavenly father and reunite with family and friends that had gone on before him.
Pete was born on June 8, 1934, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Peter ands Stella (Minet) Simecki. He graduated from Saginaw Trade School in 1951and entered the Army during the Korean War. After his service he worked for Grey Iron Foundry as a millwright, retiring in 1987. Pete and Linda Owen Gross were united in marriage on July 9, 1976. He was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church and Showboat Wheelers Camping Club. Pete Loved gardening, cooking and camping. He was a member of the Showboat Wheelers Camping Club.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda; his children: Karen Simecki, Bryan (Margaret) Simecki, Peter (Stephanie) Simecki and Steven (Angela) Simecki; stepsons: Bruce Gross and Brian (Stacey) Gross; grandchildren: Paul (Samantha) Burback, Jessica (James) Bennett, Joshua (Tiffany) Simecki, Kayla Simecki and Landen Simecki; step-grandchildren: Katlin Gross, Morgan Waite, Hannah Waite and Kayley Waite; several great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Kalahar. He was also preceded in death by brothers Charles Simecki and Leonard Simecki; sister-in-law Cecile Simecki; brother-in-law Thomas Kalahar; grandson Timothy Simecki; granddaughter-in-law Jennifer Burback; step daughter-in-law Kelly Gross; and step daughter Kendra Gross.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Ridge Road Cemetery in Brady Township. Contributions in his memory may be made to Chapin United Methodist Church. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
