Norbert grew up in Chesaning, attended school at Chesaning Our Lady, he lived his entire life in Chesaning with the exception of serving four years in the military. Norbert worked as an orderly at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, trained to be a mechanic with International Harvester and used that training working as a mechanic at Chesaning Sales Company. He then worked at New Lothrop Hardware and Alderman’s in Lennon until retiring from farm implement sales in 1993.

Norbert enjoyed sports (loved the Tigers) and spending time “fixing” anything that could be fixed. He was an avid bowler, participating as a member of a family bowling team from 1959 until 2011, and was a long-time member of the Senior Softball league in Chesaning.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Norbert was an active member of Chesaning Our Lady of Perpetual Help (now St. Peter Parish), serving as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
