SMELTZER, Nadine J. – of St. Louis, formerly of St. Charles and Oakley, died Sunday, October 9, 2022, at My Michigan Medical Center in Alma. She was 64 years of age.
Nadine was born June 29, 1958, in Saginaw to the late Frederick and Florence (Cowell) Warren. She was raised in Oakley and was a 1976 graduate of Chesaning Union Schools. She attended Baker College and was currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Central Michigan University. She served in the US Army from 1981 to 1983. Nadine married Alan Smeltzer on October 22, 2009. They resided in St. Charles for 8 years recently moving to St. Louis, MI. Mrs. Smeltzer was employed as a teacher for RESD in Shiawassee County and Chesaning Union Schools for many years. Nadine enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and was a wonderful artist.
Surviving are: husband, Alan; daughters: Charlotte (Reynaldo) Rodriguez of Oakley, Patricia Savage of Holland; grandchildren: Reynaldo Jr., Anita and Seth; sister, Brenda Warren of Saginaw; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Barry Labo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning with Rev. Janine Plum officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-7 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the family.
