Mary Jo “Mo” Seamon Obituary

Mary Jo “Mo” Seamon, 86, of Chesaning, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, at Covenant Medical Center Cooper in Saginaw, surrounded by her loving family.

Mo was born on May 8, 1940, to Josephine (Benkert) and Raymond Dankers. She spent most of her adult life in the Chesaning area and was a member of St. Peter Parish in Chesaning. In 1960, Mo met Bob Seamon on a blind date and became the love of her life. They married on August 18, 1962, and together for 66 years they built a beautiful life and family.

Mo was a registered nurse and a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at various hospitals in the Saginaw area for many years, dedicating her career to caring for others. Her compassion and caring nature touched many lives.

Mo cherished time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, spending time at her homes in Point Lookout, Michigan, Hudson, Florida, and Marco Island. She especially loved playing cards and sharing laughter, stories, and singing around the piano or campfire.

Mo is survived by her beloved husband, Bob, and their children: Robert (Candy), Joseph, Carl (Sherry) and Suzy. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren; Stephanie (Louis) Breslan, Dustin (Falecia Mails) VanDyke, Kylee Surface-Seamon, Abigail (Nate) LaVictor, Courtney (Gerard) Lefebvre, Erica (Travis) Weclowski, and Mia Surface, 6 great-grandchildren; Aidan and Anna Breslan, Lincoln VanDyke, Alton and Emmett Lefebvre, and Easton LaVictor, and many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Mary (Bulga) and Frank Seamon, sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Claude Creswell, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Gerald Tanner.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Father Vincent Oguejiofor for his compassionate care and support during this difficult time.

In honor of Mo, she would encourage you to save your seeds and plant them—a beautiful way to remember her and celebrate the life and growth she cherished. In accordance with Mo’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Cremation will take place. Those who wish to honor Mo’s memory are welcome to visit Bob at his home, invite him for coffee or dinner, or reach out to him by phone at 914-552-9373.

Mo will be missed, but the love she once gave to her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched will remain with them always.
