Marilyn (Blakeslee) Larner, surrounded by the love of family and friends both near and far, went to be with her husband George of 67 years, on Saturday November 19th, 2022.
Marilyn, daughter of the late Lyndal and Floyd Blakeslee, was born on May 21, 1931. She grew up in Chesaning on the Blakeslee Farm with her sister Margaret and her brother Jerry. She attended Morleytown School and graduated from Chesaning High School in 1948. On January 22, 1950, Marilyn Blakeslee married George Larner at the Chesaning Methodist Church. Along with raising her family, Marilyn enjoyed gardening, sewing, bowling, playing cards and selling Fuller Brush products. Many special memories were made on family trips to Little Bear Lake. She shared her love of sewing as a 4-H leader. She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, chaired Showboat dinners and worked preparing funeral dinners. Marilyn and George were part of a special card club for over 50 years. Many of the group have been holding a spot for her at the card table in heaven. We are deeply saddened by the end of her life on earth but rejoice that she is with her Savior, free of pain and has found a new kind of heavenly energy.
Left behind to cherish her memories and carry on with family traditions are her 5 children: Kathleen (David) Tithof of Chesaning, Doug (Debra) Larner of Gladwin, Curtis (Yvonne) Larner of Clarklake, Carol (James) Young of Otter Lake, Charles (Debbie) Larner of Ludington. Marilyn was blessed with seventeen grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren with a 24th expected in January of 2023. Marilyn is also survived by many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Thomas Larner and sister-in-law Helen Phillips.
Please join us in celebrating her life. Visitation will be at Misiuk Funeral Home on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 3-7 pm and at Trinity United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 10 am to Noon followed by a church service.
