Linda Lou (Godfrey) Sleeseman

SLEESEMAN, Linda Lou – of Chesaning, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at McLaren of Flint. She was 76 years of age.

Linda was born December 20, 1944 to the late Russell and Lea Marie (Selfridge) Godfry and was a lifelong resident of Chesaning. She was united in marriage to James Sleeseman Sr. on February 4, 1961. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2011. Mrs. Sleeseman was employed for Toledo Commutator for approximately 20 years. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Linda enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are: son, James Sleeseman Jr. of Chesaning; daughter, Shelly (Tom) Kuchar of Oakley; son-in-law, Steve Zervan of Burt; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Russell “Tom” (Charlotte) Godfrey of Chesaning; sisters, Patricia Fondren of Oakley and Elsie Godfrey of Corunna; half-brother, Edward Godfrey of Houghton Lake; half-sister, Penny Godfrey of Houghton Lake; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: daughter, Cheryl Lynn Zervan on December 29, 2018; infant granddaughter, Natalee Sleeseman on September 10, 2010; and a sister, Evelyn Priest September 20, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chesaning. Pastor Paul Tessmer officiating. Burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Friday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 12 noon.
