Linda Crofoot Obituary
CROFOOT, Linda (Babion) – of Crystal Lake, formerly of Chesaning, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at her residence. She was 79 years of age.
Linda was born September 7, 1941 in Chesaning to the late Albert and Ellen (Stolson) Babion. Her ancestors were among the first families to settle in Chesaning and were influential in developing Chesaning as a village. Linda was a resident of Chesaning until her retirement, at which time she and her husband Tom moved to Frankfort, MI.
Linda was united in marriage to Thomas Crofoot in October 1961; they were married for 50 years. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2011. She was employed at Community State Bank for many years, retiring as a Vice President in 1998. Mrs. Crofoot was a community volunteer for Chesaning Showboat, and then later at Munson Hospital in Frankfort. She also served on the board of River Rapids Library. She was a member of St. Peter Parish of Chesaning, Chesaning Jaycees and The Fraternal Order of Eagles Frankfort Aerie 3313. Linda and husband Tom were instrumental in organizing and overseeing the building of the playscape in Chesaning.
Surviving are her children: Karen Saunders (Randall Johnson) of Boca Raton, FL; Amy (Jeff) Flory of Chesaning, and Charlie Crofoot of Chesaning; her grandchildren: Thomas Lettich and Claire Saunders both of Boca Raton, FL; Justin (Samantha) Flory, Bret Flory, and Megan Flory all of Chesaning; Christian Painter of Saginaw, Cayden Crofoot and Savannah Crofoot both of Chesaning; one great grandson, Blaine Flory of Chesaning; two brothers: Michael (Ruth) Babion of Brant and George (Kerry) Babion of Frankfort; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Gini Babion on October 27, 2018.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation with the family will be held at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 3-6 p.m. Please follow Covid-19 guidelines.
