Lawrence James “Butch” Albers of Chesaning, age 76, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020 of a lengthy illness at St. Mary’s Hospital, Saginaw with his loving family at his side.
Lawrence was born February 8, 1944 in Saginaw, the son of Howard E. and Alice M. (Richmond) Albers. He was united in marriage to Julia A. Dolman on June 29, 1963.
Butch had worked as a job setter for Delphi General Motors for 34 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of UAW Local 699. He had enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors enjoying the weather. Butch was given the nickname of “Peter Putterer” by his family because most of the time, he could be found puttering in his “man cave” garage.
Mr. Albers is survived by his beloved wife of almost 57 years, Julia “Judy”; loving daughters, Michelle Albers, Danielle Albers (Jason), and Dawn Albers (Rob); seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Czuba and Donna Tribfelner; a brother, Randy (Becky) Albers; several nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Howard Albers.
A memorial visitation for Butch will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Misiuk Funeral Home, Chesaning. Memorial contributions can be made to the wishes of the family. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
