Larry J. Miller Obituary
Larry J. Miller of Chesaning, age 85, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, at Chesaning Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Larry was born in Chesaning on July 17, 1937, a son of Lawrence R. and Anna B. (Profota) Miller. He married the love of his life, Jean E. Vogelaar, in Chesaning on June 1, 1957. She preceded him in death in March of 2002.
Larry loved to play cards, go to the casino, and play the lottery. He also loved to go up north to go deer hunting and sucker fishing with his wife. While living with his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Clayton, he found great joy in watching his great-grandchildren play.
Larry retired from Saginaw Steering Gear in 1989 with 34.4 years of service as a skilled tradesman. He then worked for Thompson Ball & Screw for ten more years, retiring in 1999.
He is survived by his daughters, Amy (Clayton) Sawvel, Darlene (Larry) Thiel, and Carol (Tom) Thiel, all of Chesaning; twelve grandchildren, Angela (Kevin) Cable, Heather (Bryan) Nephew, Jessica (Jeff) Hetrick, Tammy (Dennis) Stark, Timothy (Jennifer) Thiel, Steven Thiel, Scott Thiel, Andy Thiel, Rebecca (James) Justus, Dennis Miller Jr., Troy Miler, and Michelle (Matthew) Frasier; eighteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Helen Phillips, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife, Jean; sons, Tommy and Dennis Miller; sisters, Clara Smith, Joan Schneider, and Shirley Richter, and a brother, Stanley.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning. Rev. John James will officiate. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Chesaning. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the family being present from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service.
