BALL, La Rita Mae (Eickholt)
On a beautiful sunny day, the Lord reached down and took her hand and welcomed La Rita Eickholt-Ball into Heaven. She left earth with her loved ones around her on March 3, 2026.
La Rita was born October 28, 1936, daughter of Frances and Andrew Nietling. She was married to Bernard Eickholt on April 16, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1993. She then married Charles I Ball on April 29, 1994, and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2005. She had attended Our Lady Church in Chesaning and Holy Spirit Church in Shields. She assisted Twin Township Ambulance and worked at Gracie’s Country Restaurant in Burt.
Surviving are: her loving children and spouses: John E. Eickholt (companion Mary Niedefski) of Chesaning, Donna (David) Kozlowski of Chesaning, William (Ronda) Eickholt of IN, Bernard L Eickholt II of Chesaning, Joseph (Michele) Eickholt of IN; 4 precious grandchildren: Andrew (Stephanie) Eickholt of IL, Stephanie Eickholt of IN, Cody Riley of IN, and Stephen Riley of IN; 3 great grandchildren: Fay, Caleb and Georgi; and a sister, Marguerite “Peg” (Eugene) Ruhl of Chesaning. She was preceded in death by: parents, 2 husbands, and brothers, Robert L Nietling and Richard Leroy Nietling.
Memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 21, 2026, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Chesaning. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until time of Mass at 11 am. Inurnment will be in St, Michael Cemetery in Maple Grove. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church.
