Kenneth L. Ackerman Obituary

Kenneth L. Ackerman of Birch Run passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Covenant Healthcare of Saginaw.  He was 85 years of age.
 
He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on March 28, 1935, a son of the late Clifford J. and Winifred (Garber) Ackerman.  Kenneth graduated from Chesaning Union High School.  He was a proud US Veteran, having served and Honorably Discharged from the US Army.  He was united in marriage to Saundra LuAnn Stoddard in Chesaning on April 13, 1963.  They were happily married for over 47 years before her death on January 5, 2011.
 
Mr. Ackerman was a longtime resident of Birch Run, Taymouth Township.  He was a Journeyman Machinist and had worked and retired from both General Motors and Danaher Motion.  Kenneth was a member of the UAW and the American Legion Post 125 of Birch Run.  He enjoyed ORV-ing and snowmobiling.
 
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Annette (Jerry) Blakeslee and Ken (Deb) Ackerman, all of Montrose; grandchildren, Brandi (Justin) McNaughton of Chesaning, Jennifer Blakeslee-Wilber (Mark Wilber)  of St. Charles, Kenneth Scott LJ Ackerman of New Lothrop, Jerome Blakeslee (Ashley Gross) of Oakley, and Kevin (Gina) Ackerman of Birch Run; great-grandchildren, Elizabith, Oliver, Xavier, Konner, Levi, and Jaxson; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends.  Kenneth was also preceded in death by two sisters, a brother, two granddaughters, and a great-granddaughter.
