John Wilson “Mr. City Drug Store” Kaser, RPh, passed away peacefully at his residence in Indian River, Michigan. He was born May 21, 1948, in Owosso, Michigan, to John C. “Jay” and Marian I. (Wilson) Kaser.
John graduated from Chesaning High School in 1966 and went on to earn his pharmacy degree from Ferris State College in 1971. Following graduation, he worked alongside his father at Kaser Rexall Drug before moving to Marquette, Michigan, where he continued his career as a pharmacist. Later, John purchased City Drug Store in Manistee, where he became a well-known and trusted member of the community. He owned and operated the pharmacy for nearly three decades, selling the business in 2007 but continuing to work as a relief pharmacist until retiring in 2016. John spent much of his life and retirement fishing, enjoying Burt Lake and his 1964 Boston Whaler.
John is survived by his sister Jane M. Baker; nephew Matthew R. Baker and niece Emily E. Porter, and several grand-nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place with burial later in Wildwood Cemetery in Chesaning. Memorial contributions may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
