John J. Winkler Obituary
John J. Winkler, age 68, of Elsie, MI passed away on September 15, 2021 at Michigan Medicine, Ann Arbor, MI, with family at his side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril Catholic Church, Bannister, MI, at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, with Rev. Fr. Thom Kowalzcyk officiating. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning, MI, on Monday, September 20, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and concluding with a time of sharing memories.
John was born in Owosso, MI on January 30, 1953, the son of Frank and Geraldine (Holechek) Winkler. He graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the class of 1971. John enjoyed being around family and cutting firewood.
John is survived by his wife, Loretta (Knutson) Winkler; daughter, Angela Winkler; mother, Geraldine Winkler; siblings, David Winkler, Cathy Winkler, Sherry Winkler, Suzanne (Dennis) Pierce, Ric (Jacki) Winkler, and Mary Beth Winkler; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Katherine Peters; brothers-in-law, Arlo (Deena) Knutson and Larry Knutson; sister-in-law, Elsie Loynes.
He was preceded in death by his infant granddaughter, Trinity Winkler; father, Frank Winkler, Sr.; brother, Frank Winkler, Jr.; sister, Theresa Winkler; brother-in-law, Robert Styczen; and his grandparents.
