Passed away Thursday evening August 24, 2017, at the Hospice House of Shiawassee County, age 83. Joan has been cremated. A Memorial Mass will take place on Monday August 28, 2017, at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Maple Grove. Rev. Fr. Joseph Miller will officiate. The family will be at the church on Monday morning starting at 10:00 am to welcome family and friends. 

Joan was born December 21, 1933, in St. Charles. Her parents were Lawrence and Anna (Profota) Miller. They have both passed away. She was a graduate of Chesaning High School. 

Her husband Joseph passed away June 22, 2010.

Those left to mourn her include her 3 children: Yvonne (Gary) Woods, Chesaning,  Paul Schneider, Chesaning,  Theresa Cook, Canada. 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her 2 sisters and 1 brother: Shirley Richter, Clio,  Helen (Bill) Phillips, Chesaning,  Larry Miller, St. Charles. son-in-law: Gary Smith. sister-in-law: Theresa Miller.

Other loved ones who have passed away include: her son, Bruce; her daughter, Annette Smith; son-in-law, James Cook; brother, Stanley; Sister and brother in law: Clara and Floyd Smith. brother-in-law: Bill Richter. Sister-in-law: Jean Miller.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
