BIRGE, Jimmie Thomas – of Chesaning died Saturday, February 12, 2022, at his home. His age was 72 years.
Jimmie was born in Tompkinsville, Kentucky on April 5, 1949, the son of the late Haskel and Pearl (Moore) Birge. Jimmie has lived most of his life in the Chesaning area. He was united in marriage to Karen Gall on November 17, 1982.
Mr. Birge worked as a maintenance man for Chesaning Union Schools for 25 years before retiring in 2011. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, and fishing and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; their children, Lori (Jeff) Vincke of Maple Grove, Stanley (Terra) Birge of Owosso, and Jennifer (Tom) Wheaton of Chesaning; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; his siblings, Jamie Birge of Owosso and Judy (Roger) Denter of Oakley; nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica “Jessie” Birge on July 5, 2016; an infant brother, Kenneth Birge; and siblings, Wayne Birge, Maryruth Frederick, Ada Birge, Imogene Furgeson, and Jackie Birge.
Funeral services for Jimmie will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Chesaning. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Contributions made in the memory of Jimmie may be directed to the family.
