Jenove R. Zehner of Oakley passed away Monday afternoon, August 9, 2021, at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit. She was 74 years of age.
Jenove was born in Saginaw on January 7, 1947, the child of Russell Franklin and Eleanor Frances (Butler) Thiel. Jenove was a long-time resident of Oakley. She graduated from Chesaning Union High School in the Class of 1965. She continued her education at Central Michigan University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She was united in marriage to Gerald A. Zehner in Brady Twp. on August 2, 1969. They were married almost 24 years before he preceded her in death on July 7, 1993.
Mrs. Zehner was a loving wife and mother. She had worked briefly as a teacher. She attended Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakley. She was a former Brady 4-H leader and volunteered at the Saginaw County Fair as a Co-Supervisor. Jenove enjoyed quilting and reading.
Those left to cherish her memories include her three daughters, Jill and husband Bill Hurley, Jaclyn Thatcher and husband Tim Pilecki, and Joella and husband Chad Fuoss; and ten grandchildren, Jessica, Elaine, Andrew, Abigail, Katy, Brayden, Josephine, William, Adaline, and Landon. Jenove was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2021, at Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning. Rev. David Mielke will officiate. Burial will be later at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy, MI. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
