James Allen Brainerd

BRAINERD, James Allen – of Maple Grove Twp., died Sunday, February 20, 2022. He was 71 years of age.

Jim was born July 11, 1950, in Owosso to the late Elmer and Ellen (Azelton) Brainerd and was a lifelong resident of the Chesaning area. Mr. Brainerd was employed by Hancor Inc. until 1995 then drove semi-truck for many years. He was an Elvis fanatic, loved classic cars and enjoyed driving around.

Surviving are: children: Dawn (Daniel) Anders of Ovid, James (Melanie) Steck of Ovid, Ryan (Michael) Brainerd of Grand Blanc, Scott (Jennifer) Brainerd of Hemlock, Lisa Spencer of Ovid, Stacy Deming  of Oakley, Kris (Micah) Brainerd of North Canton, OH; many many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine (Bill) Fockler of Crystal; brothers, Ronald Brainerd of Oakley and Rick (Deb) Brainerd of Oakley; brother-in-law, Maurice Alexander of Chesaning; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: his companion of 27 years, Diane Kerr; and a sister, Betty Alexander.

A time to celebrate his life will be held from 3-6 p.m. Saturday February 26, 2022 at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning. Contributions may be made to the family. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
