Jack A. Reef of Owosso, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Memorial Healthcare Center, Owosso. He had been battling kidney disease for a few years.
Jack was born in Durand on March 9, 1963, the son of Franklin E. and Thelma J. (VanDoren) Reef. Jack was a lifelong resident of Owosso. He graduated from Owosso High School in the Class of 1980. One of his earliest jobs was a motor-route carrier for The Argus-Press. He enjoyed his daily job of delivering newspapers for several years.
Jack was united in marriage to Kathy Jenkins on March 30, 2011. With this new responsibility, he decided to change jobs. He started his short career at Hehr Glass in Chesaning. He worked for just a few years before he had leave because of his medical disability.
When he was not working, Jack enjoyed shooting guns and fixing cars of family and friends. At age 4, Jack’s father got him first interested in fixing lawnmowers. In a very short time, Jack was repairing lawnmowers on his own. As he grew older, his mechanical tinkering grew, and eventually, he was working and repairing cars. One of his favorite shows he watched on TV was “Forged in Fire”.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Kathy; his step-children, Bobby (Ashley) Woods, Laurie Woods, Randy Jenkins, Tammy (Jason) Ward, David (Alicia) Jenkins, Nathan Jenkins, Katrinia Jenkins, and Joshua Jenkins; 16 grandchildren; his sister, Cheryl (Dan) Kribs; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
