Ilene L. Duey Obituary
DUEY, Ilene L. – of Chesaning, died Friday, August 9, 2024, at Chesaning Comfort Care. She was 83 years of age.
Ilene was born July 12, 1941, in Taylor, MI to the late Henry and Virginia (Montie) Yeager. She was a 1959 graduate of Taylor High School. She was united in marriage to David H. Duey on September 10, 1983, in her sister’s backyard in Dearborn Heights, She and David moved to Chesaning in 2000 from Westland. Ilene was a member of Easton Church of Christ. She had taught sign language at a night school in Westland. Her hobbies were her dogs, Dixie, Sarah and Satchmo.
Surviving are: husband, David; children: Tammy (Robert) Russik of Romulus, MI, Robert North of Buckley, MI, David J. (Collette) Duey of Lapeer, Steven Duey of Denver, CO, Laurie (Allan) Yurchak of Atlanta, GA; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: Margie Plessinger of Owosso, Jenna (John) Gunnells, Ann (Wally) Grabda, Joe Yeager of Westland, and Louie (Mary) Yeager of Detroit; sister-in-law Pat Yeager of Romulus; many nieces and nephews. She ws also preceded in death by: brothers Buzzy and Glen Yeager; sister Joannie Swerve; brothers-in-law Ed Helper and Richard Plessinger.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Easton Church of Christ, 3477 Easton Road, Owosso. Preacher Jeff Strickler will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to Easton Church of Christ.
