Holly A. Kricher Obituary

Holly A. Kricher of Oakley, Michigan passed away Tuesday morning, June 9, 2020 at his home with his loving wife and family by his side.  He was 86 years of age.

He was born in Hemlock, Michigan on August 14, 1933, the son of the late Alex and Mary (Krupinski) Kricher.  Holly married the love of his life, Betty Kohlhoff, on June 18, 1960.  She survives him.  Holly and Betty would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.  He was an Honorably Discharged Veteran, proudly serving in the US Army during the Korean War era.  Holly was a hardworking member of Operating Engineers Local 324 for 50 years and enjoyed working outside, farming and gardening, his entire life.  He loved to tinker in his pole barn, go goodie picking, and spending time with family and friends.  He had a special relationship with his granddaughter, Michele, and grandson, Cody, and enjoyed spoiling all of his grandchildren.  He was a very friendly, generous, and outgoing man, always having the time to sit down for a cup of coffee and especially enjoyed having a cold one at the end of the day.

Holly will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Betty; their daughters, Kathy (Joe) Clarke of Saginaw, Susan (Randy) Fisher of Pinckney, and Holly (Victor) Johnson of Saginaw; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Kricher and Larry Kricher; a sister, Agnes Smith; three sisters-in-law, Ann Kricher, Rose (Tyler) Braddock, and Frances (Herb) Pash; and other loving family, friends, and close neighbors.  He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private committal service with Army funeral honors is to be held.  A Celebration of Holly’s Life at his farm will be announced later.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Heart to Heart Hospice or Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center.

His family wishes a special thank you to the caring staff at Heart to Heart Hospice, and niece, Audrey Spear, for their love and support during Holly’s final days.
