Harry J. Thiel Obituary
Harry J. Thiel of Brady Twp., age 56, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, August 24, 2018, at his home. He was born in Owosso on June 10, 1962, the son of Gerald L. and Norma Jean (Sims) Thiel. Harry lived in the Oakley area all his life. He graduated from Chesaning High School in the Class of 1981. He was united in marriage to Kathy Kingsbury in Las Vegas on March 14, 1994.
Mr. Thiel worked in Quality Control at Hehr International, Inc. (Lippert) in Chesaning for over ten years. He enjoyed camping, hunting, gambling, and traveling.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 24 years, Kathy; their children, Billy Mayhew (Amanda) of Cadillac and Zachary (Peggy) Mayhew of Bannister; four grandchildren, Desiree Mayhew (Justin), Alexandria Mayhew, Porsche Mayhew, and Joshua Mayhew; great-grandson, Myles McKenzie; his siblings, Jerry Lee (Karla) Thiel of Brady Twp., Edward (Colleen) Thiel of Brady Twp., Wendy Herbers of Owosso, Susan Van Buren of Owosso, and Timothy Thiel of Owosso; brother-in-law, Tim Bemiss of Brady Twp.; and many special nieces and nephews. Those who have passed away before him include his parents, Jerry and Norma Jean Thiel; two brothers, Paul and Eldon Thiel; and a sister, Rosemary Bemiss.
Pastor John James will officiate at Harry’s funeral service being held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2018, at Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery of Chesaning. Visitation at the funeral home will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and then from 10:00 a.m. Monday until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
