HANEY, Geraldine “Geri” Marjorie – of Brant, age 81, died Saturday, February 23, 2019, from several years of cancer at Hospice House of Shiawassee County, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Misiuk Funeral Home, 202 S. Front St. in Chesaning. Rev. Ray Strawser officiating. Burial to follow in Brant Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
Geri was born in Saginaw County on November 2, 1937 the daughter of the late Donald and Leah (Adams) Archambault. She attended Chesaning Union Schools until the 9th grade. Geraldine married Keith Haney on October 23, 1954. Geri was an active, strong and extremely hardworking woman. She not only raised 5 of her own but opened her home to other children as a foster parent. Geri was employed for many years at Fowler Meat Packing Company and then eventually retired from K-Mart after 20 years. She also played a major part in taking care of their family farm even through her illness until the very end. Geri was a great bowler and played on multiple leagues alongside Keith. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are: husband Keith; children: Kenneth Haney, Keith Allan Haney (companion Lydia), Timothy (Lisa) Haney, Penny (Mike) Griffith and Peggy Vogelaar (companion Mark Scherzer); grandchildren: Bradley (Jessica) Haney, Brent (Liza) Haney, Bethany Haney, Crystal Haney, Tyler (Cassi) Haney, Shane (Catrina) Haney, Britney Haney (companion Jim), Curtis Griffith, Christopher (Tammy) Griffith, Katie (T.J.) Marshall, Brooklynn Marshall and Kevin Vogelaar; many great grandchildren; sisters: Donna (George) Felker, Doyla (Richard) Lycka; brother, Duane (Carol) Archambault; sisters-in-law: Darlene Anaman, Janet (Larry) Streeter, Kathy Klein and Linda (Charlie) Miler; brother-in-law, Tom Garno; daughter-in-law, Sue Haney; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was also preceded in death by: sister Marlene and husband Calvin Cartensen; sister-in-law, Terri Garno; and brothers-in-law, Ed Anaman and David Klein.
