Gerald J. Maike Obituary
MAIKE, Gerald J. – of Chesaning, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Saginaw Senior Care and Rehab Center. He was 94 years of age.
Gerald was born November 29, 1930, in Chesaning to the late Fred and Theresa (Constine) Maike and was a lifelong resident of Chesaning. He was united in marriage to Donna Spencer on January 26, 1963. Gerald served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from General Motors, Truck and Bus with over 38 years seniority. Gerald was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and St. Christopher Knights of Columbus Council # 2943. He enjoyed gardening and playing cards.
Surviving are: wife, Donna; son, Michael; grandson, Franklin, both of Saginaw Twp.; siblings: Loraine Cowman, Lucille Maike, Lavern (Dorothy) Maike; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Leonard, Clarence, Walt, Lawrence, Alfred, Jim, Louis, Evelyn Danek and Jane Vondrasek.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11am Thursday, May 8, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 404 S. Wood St. in Chesaning. Fr. Andrej Boroch presiding. Visitation will be at the church on that day from 10am until time of Mass at 11am. Inurnment with military honors will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery 11am Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
