Genevieve "Jean" Aurelia Wenzlick Obituary
WENZLICK, Genevieve “Jean” Aurelia, age 91, of New Lothrop, MI, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at home surrounded by family.
Jean was born March 21, 1934, to Edward and Emma (Bitterman) Yaklin. She married Kenneth R. Wenzlick on August 28, 1954. Jean was a long-time waitress and customer of Johnny’s and the Junction of Hope restaurants. She also was the bookkeeper for Shannon’s in Montrose. She started and was a member and officer of local TOPS groups. She directed the choir, taught religion and assisted in starting the SPRED program for St. Michaels Church. She was a homemaker, farmers wife, and mother of 10. She loved nature and helping people.
Surviving are: children: Ed (Denise) Wenzlick, Dave (Vickie) Wenzlick, Randy (Jan) Wenzlick, Margie (Mike) Jacobs, Jane (Kevin) Quaderer, Ray Wenzlick, Jim (Denise) Wenzlick, Lori (Steve) Storms; daughter-in-law Deb Wenzlick; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Cramton; sisters-in-law Kathleen Confer, Evelyn Angst, and Sister Rita Wenzlick; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, parents, daughter Barbara, son Jack, 13 siblings, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 17994 Lincoln Road on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9:00 am until time of mass at 11am. Fr. Robert Kelm officiating. Burial to follow in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery next to her husband. The family extends a special thank you to Elara Caring, daughter-in-law Vickie Wenzlick and family friend Vickie Bishop for their love and medical care.
