Fredric Lewis Memmer Obituary
MEMMER, Fredric Lewis – of Chesaning passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Union Court Assisted Living in Chesaning surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years of age.
Fredric was born on the family farm on June 26, 1938, as son of the late Walter and Juliette (Kinville) Memmer. He was united in marriage to Mary Louise Henige on October 28, 1961. Mr. Memmer had worked at Hehr Manufacturing for 40 years before his retirement. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Farm Bureau, Neighborhood Card Club, and Modern Pioneers Camping Club. Fred and Mary loved traveling and had visited every state except Hawaii. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching.
Fredric is survived by his beloved wife of over 64 years, Mary; their children, Kateri (Kurt) Angst of St. Charles, Julie (Lewis) Miller/Memmer of Owosso, and Richard Memmer of Florida; grandchildren, Jessica Angst, Lance (Samantha) Angst, Lucas Angst (Kiara Gemalsky), Samantha Memmer, and Ava Memmer; great-grandchildren, Lucas Kain, Jaxtin Angst, and Harper Angst; his sisters, Charlotte (Robert) Willie and Annette (Ed) Albert; in-laws, Charlie (Patty) Henige, Joe (Doris) Henige, Lou (Sue) Henige, Jean Hammond, Florence (Mike) Markiewicz, Andy (Jane) Henige, Fred (Bev) Henige, Francis Henige, Peter Henige, Arlene Wallace, Maggie Kelly, and Marilyn Henige; many nieces and nephews and other loving family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walt and Julie Memmer; parents-in-law, Clarence and Anna Henige; brothers, Jim (Ruth) Memmer and Ron Memmer; in-laws, Ruth (Dan) Winchesters, Jim Hammond, Jay Wallace, and John Kemp; and a grandson, Nathaneal Memmer.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026, at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 South Wood Street, Chesaning. Visitation will be Wednesday at Misiuk Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m. and then Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass. A Vigil for the Deceased will be prayed Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
