Fauna was born in Owosso on September 9, 1942, a daughter of Chauncy C. “Bud” and Katherine (Konkus) Walker.  Fauna was a longtime resident of Brant.  She graduated from Chesaning Union High School in the Class of 1960.  She was united in marriage to Gary Clyde Nixon, Sr. on October 29, 1960, at the Brady Center Wesleyan Church in Oakley.

Fauna and her husband, Gary Sr., owned and operated Nixon’s Grocery Store in Brant, beginning on December 26, 1967.  They eventually transferred the ownership of their family run store to their son, Gary Jr., in 2015.  Fauna never stopped being active behind the scenes with the store’s business.

Fauna had been an active member of the former Brady Center Wesleyan Church until it closed.  She then became an active member at the Oakley Community Church.  She loved to travel and walk on the beaches and collect shells.  She had traveled to the Bahamas, several countries in Europe, and Hawaii and had taken a cruise to Alaska.

Fauna helped design the family home and loved Do-it-Yourself projects.  She built the gazebo at the family home and fixed and maintained everything inside and outside the home.
