Evelyn Jean (Szymanski) Manial

MANIAL, Evelyn Jean – of Chesaning, died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at McLaren of Flint. She was 69 years of age.

Evelyn was born August 13, 1951 in Rogers City, MI to David and Esther Eleanor (Huntley) Szymanski. Evelyn was a 1969 graduate of Chesaning High School. She was united in marriage to Steven Manial on September 6, 1969 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Saginaw. Evelyn enjoyed attending her Class of 1969 luncheons. She volunteered as a Teachers Aid for 12 years at Big Rock Elementary School for Nancy Long. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, plants and flowers, and was very family oriented. She attended every sport event her grandsons played in and spent every moment she could with her family.

Surviving are: husband, Steve; son Shane Manial of Owosso; daughter Stephanie Harrod of Chesaning; grandsons: Andrew Manial of Owosso, Brendan Harrod of Ovid, Bryce Harrod of Corunna and Levi Manial of Owosso; mother Esther Achtabowski of Chesaning; siblings: Paul (Mary) Szymanski of Gladstone, Carol Mead (Steve) of Flint, Pat Zoellner of Montrose, Kathy (Marty) Tackabury of Birch Run, Mary (Bob) Bassham of Oakley, Gertie (Pete) Hemgesburg of Chesaning, Jo (Roland) Wilcox of Hastings and Tina (Bill) Marquardt of Jerome; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 1-6 p.m. with a funeral service at 6 p.m. Rev. Fred Smith officiating. Cremation to follow. Contributions in her memory may be made to the family.

Following Covid-19 guidelines, masks must be worn, and social distancing practiced at the funeral home. Currently funeral homes are limited to 25 people.
