Obituary
ACHTABOWSKI, Esther E. – of Chesaning, died Monday, June 12, 2023, at Chesaning Comfort Care. She was 92 years of age.
Esther was born in Presque Isle County, MI to the late Clare and Helen (Frieburger) Huntley and was a resident of the Chesaning area most of her life. She was united in marriage to August Achtabowski in 1958. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1999. Esther enjoyed gardening, crocheting, fishing, going up north, playing euchre, singing, listening to music, going to the casino, but especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are: children: Paul (Mary) Szymanski of Gladstone, Carol Mead (Steve) of Flint, Pat Zoellner of Montrose, Kathy (Marty) Tackabury of Birch Run, Mary (Bob) Bassham of Oakley, Jo (Roland) Wilcox of Hastings, Tina (Bill) Marquardt of Jerome, Mike Puchacz of Alpena; son-in-law, Pete Hemgesburg of Chesaning; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Earl (Debbie) Huntley of MO; sister, Thelma McInerney of Burt; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by: daughters, Evelyn (Steve) Manial on February 25, 2021 and Gertrude Hemgesburg on September 14, 2021; grandson, Trampis Zoellner; 1 sister and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning. Rev. Dan Vander Velde officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Thursday until time of services at 2 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the family or Chesaning Comfort Care.
