Ellen I. Moffit Obituary
Ellen I. Moffit of Chesaning died Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital of Saginaw. Her age was 68 years.
Ellen was born March 18, 1952 in Saginaw, the daughter of Cletus Emil and Margaret Ellen (Mahoney) Emmendorfer. She was united in marriage to Leonard L. Moffit Jr. on June 17, 1977. They were married for over 42 years before he preceded her in death on April 4, 2020.
Ellen was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove. She worked all of her life as a Customer Service Representative in several banks including Chesaning State Bank, D&N Bank, Republic Bank, Citizen’s Bank, and First Merit Bank before retiring in August of 2014. She enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with family and her long-time friend Debby Newman, but the light of her life was her granddaughter, Kendra, whom she loved with her heart and soul.
Ellen is survived by her very special granddaughter, Kendra Moffit; son Leonard J. Moffit, who she loved dearly; much loved daughter, Carol (Curt) Moffit-Hoten of Swartz Creek and son, Rick (Pam) Moffit of Oscoda; grandsons, David Moffit, Daniel Moffit, Adam Moffit, and Matthew Moffit; granddaughter, Sara Moffit; great-grandsons, Xavier Moffit and Theodore Moffit; great-granddaughters, Nila Moffit, Jessa Moffit, and Elizabeth Sawvel; sister, Elizabeth (Phil) Neumann; brother, Emil Emmendorfer; brother-in-law, John (Jova) Moffit; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cletus and Margaret Emmendorfer; her parents-in-law, Leonard L. and Alberta C. (Hawes) Moffit; a sister, Eileen Emmendorfer; her husband, Leonard L. Moffit Jr., and a daughter, Jamie Moffit.
A Private Rite of Committal is to be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Chesaning. A memorial service will be announced later. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
