Eliza M. Wendling Obituary
WENDLING, Eliza M. – of Chesaning, died Friday, January 19, 2024, at her home. She was 63 years of age.
Eliza was born in Saginaw on October 30, 1960, a daughter of Gene and Barbara (Leach) Gubbins. Eliza had lived in Albee Twp. before moving to Chesaning Twp. after she was married. She graduated from Chesaning Union High School in the Class of 1978. She married the love of her life, Michael Wendling, on May 23, 1981. They had known each other since the seventh grade.
Eliza enjoyed her time at the family cabin and being outdoors and taking care of her flowers. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael; their children, Christopher (Jewel) Wendling and Cara Wendling, all of Chesaning; grandchildren, Brayden, Jordyn, Logan, and Sam; her siblings, Connie (Jeff) Canole of Lake City, MI, Carol (Phil) Beckman of Chesaning, Dave (Cathy) Gubbins of Winter Garden, FL, and Cindy (Jeff) Kinsey of New Lothrop; a sister-in-law, MarLynn Gubbins of Burt; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and many friends. Eliza was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Barbara Gubbins; and a brother, Gene Gubbins Jr., in 2017.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 1-7 p.m. at Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning. Charitable donations given in memory of Eliza may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
