Elaine M. Sadilek Obituary
SADILEK, Elaine M. – of Chesaning, died Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. She was 86 years of age.
Elaine was born March 15, 1940 to the late Matt and Mary (Brainerd) Bleisner in Brady Twp. at the family home. Elaine worked at Kaser Drug Store, starting at the age of 14. She graduated from Chesaning Union High School in 1958. Elaine married the love of her life, Charles Sadilek, Jr. in May of 1961, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chesaning.
Elaine continued to work part-time throughout her life at Kaser Drugs, Weigold Floral, the Market Street Square Mall, and finished her working career at Valley Communities Credit Union (now known as United Financial Credit Union). She retired from the Credit Union in the early 2000’s and enjoyed her retirement with her family and friends. Elaine was a devoted member of the Showboat Decorating Committee, serving as its Chairperson in 1972. She also was a member of the Jay Cee Club and was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Elaine is survived by her three sons, Jeffrey C. Sadilek, Donald Sadilek, and Douglas (Shannon) Sadilek, all of Chesaning; her grandchildren: Jennifer (Craig) Weisenberger of Chesaning, Brandon (Shelby) Sadilek of Saginaw, Melanie Sadilek (Dillion Kendziorski) of Dewitt, and Marra Sadilek (Nolan Bailey) of Clio; great grandsons, Luke and Max Weisenberger of Chesaning; sisters, Joyce Collard of Owosso, Jean Devereaux of Brant, and Carol Schmiege of Chesaning; sisters-in-law: Patricia Schroeder, Sally (Ed) List all of Chesaning, Priscilla Bleisner of Brant; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles Sadilek; her parents; three brothers, William and wife Ruth, Paul, and Jack Bleisner; and a brothers-in-law, Tom Collard, Ron Devereaux, Phil Schmiege and Arthur Schroeder.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chesaning. Pastor Paul Tessmer officiating. Inurnment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Chesaning. Memorial visitation will be from 2-8 pm Monday at Misiuk Funeral Home and then Tuesday at the church from 10 am until the time of the funeral service.
