MUIRHEAD, Douglas A. – Of Chesaning, died Thursday evening, February 19, 2026, at Union Court Assisting Living in St. Charles. He was 72 years of age.
Douglas was born in Saginaw on September 22, 1953, a son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Gewirtz) Muirhead. Doug had lived his entire life in the Chesaning area. He graduated from Chesaning Union High School in the Class of 1971 and continued his education at Michigan State University.
Doug was honorably discharged from the US Army, having been stationed in Germany and proudly served from 1971-1973. He was self-employed and operated a lawn care business. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading and traveling.
Doug is survived by his brothers and their spouses, Dennis and Shirley Muirhead, Dale and Carol Muirhead, and Dick and Nan Muirhead; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; stepdad, Harold Weber; a sister and her husband, Diane and Ed Gross, a sister-in-law, Geri Muirhead; and a stepsister, Mary Rodriquez.
To honor and celebrate Doug’s life, a Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church in Chesaning. Fr. Andrzej Boroch will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until time of the Mass. Army Funeral Honors will be following after the Mass.
