Dorothy M. (Muirhead) (Gewirtz) Weber

WEBER, Dorothy M. (Gewirtz) (Muirhead) – of Chesaning, died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at her residence. She was 93 years of age.

Dorothy was born June 27, 1927 in Chesaning, to the late Fred and Rose (Bauman) Gewirtz the last of 9 children. She was a lifelong resident of Chesaning and a 1945 graduate of Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School. Dorothy worked for Schultz Drug Store starting at 13 years old in 1940. In 1959, she began working at Chesaning High School in the cafeteria for 10 years. In 1969, she went to work at Peet Packing until her retirement in 1986. Dorothy was united in marriage to Bob Muirhead in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1971. She then married Harold Weber and he preceded her in death in 2012. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church now St. Peter Catholic Church.

Surviving are: sons: Dennis (Shirley) Muirhead, Dale (Carol) Muirhead, Doug Muirhead and Dick (Nan) Muirhead; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; step children: Mary (Mike) Rodriquez and Barry (Libby) Weber; 3 step grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; 2 favorite nieces Mary Beth Reiber and Sue Vogelaar; and her Godson, Ron Chludil. Let there be no mistake that mother loved you as much as her boys and the family appreciates the 2 girls and her Godson very much. Thank you. Dorothy was also preceded in death by: her daughter, Diane (Muirhead) Gross in 2003; siblings: Art, Bob, Bill, Don, Lugertha Baker, Barb Schlacter, Eleanor Coleman and Mary Lou Chludil.

Following Covid-19 constraints, a Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020 at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 South Wood Street, Chesaning with Fr. William Gruden officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
