Donald L. Ostrander, Jr.

OSTRANDER, Donald L. Jr. – of Chesaning, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at University Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was 55 years of age.

Don was born August 13, 1967, in Saginaw to Donald and Irene (Vejcik) Ostrander and was a lifelong resident of Chesaning. He was a 1985 graduate of Chesaning Union High School. Mr. Ostrander was employed by Mid-Michigan Station Services in Oakley since 2000. He had attended Trinity United Methodist Church. Don had a mechanical ability and enjoyed working on his vehicles. He enjoyed playing with his dog, being a dad, and playing video games on his phone.

Surviving are: companion and soul mate, Stacy Gotham; son, Nick Ostrander (companion Maria) of Chesaning; furbaby, Gunner; stepson, Zach Smewing of Chesaning; mother, Irene (John) Neff of Chesaning; sisters: Patricia (Donald) Brcik of St. Charles, Cheri (Ron) Woodworth of Chesaning, Kay Neff of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Kelly (Jim) Spannagel of Chesaning; brother-in-law, Brian (Candace) Gotham of Chesaning; mother-in-law, Sally Gotham of Chesaning; nieces and nephews: Mandee, Chadd, Brianna, Alexandria, Cadon, Tim and Tammy; great niece and nephew, Miley and Braydyn; best friends: Steve and Connie Priest, Jeff and Dottie Roy, and Larry and Julie Langworthy. He was preceded in death by: his father, Donald L. Ostrander Sr.; father-in-law, Larry Gotham; and his furkittys, Sid and Pita.  

Cremation has taken place. A Time for Sharing Memories will be from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the American Legion Post, 15053 McKeighan Road in Chesaning. Contributions in his memory to benefit Showboat Park may be made to Village of Chesaning, 218 N. Front St., Suite A, Chesaning, MI 48616.
