David Wilson Obituary

WILSON, David Scott – of Montrose, was called Home by His Savior on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. He was 64 years of age.

David (also known to many as “Scott”) was born in Flint on June 2, 1962, and was a resident of Montrose, living in the same house his entire life. He was a 1980 graduate of Hill-McCloy High School and earned his RN from Mott Community College in 2010. David was united in marriage to Kimberly Barker on June 25, 1988. Mr. Wilson was a full-time hairdresser for 35 years. Having welcomed their son later in life, Dave returned to school to study nursing. He then served as a geriatric nurse for years, before retiring as a psychiatric nurse. He loved his work and saw himself as a servant to his patients. He was a member of Mayfair Bible Church since 1989 and served several times as a deacon of the church. He served on the planning commission of Montrose Township, was involved in the Montrose Masonic Lodge No. 428, and served as treasurer of Genesee area Auxiliary Radio Service when they were operational. He enjoyed spending time with his family, making people laugh, photography, and had a passion for talking with people. Any people. He and his wife hosted an annual July 3rd party for neighbors and friends for over 20 years, where he arranged a whiffle ball game for kids of every age. His team always won. He enjoyed their yearly vacation to Maranatha Bible Conference in Norton Shores, MI with friends from all over the United States. He was described by both friends and family as larger than life and one of a kind. He will be sorely missed because of his sense of humor and accepting spirit.

Surviving are: wife, Kimberly; son, Spencer (Josie) Wilson of Montrose; mother, Joyce Wilson of Montrose; siblings: Nancy (Eric) Baird of Burt, Will (Gay) Wilson of TN, and Russ (Toni) Wilson of Clio; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and especially Tom (Audrey) Papineau of Burton.

Memorial service will be announced. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to Mayfair Bible Church, Carriage Town Mission, or Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
